Why we’re having these conversations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Periscope is exploring people’s experiences of perimenopause and menopause in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re listening to understand what people are experiencing, where workplaces are supporting employees well, where gaps exist, and what employers might do differently. We may bring themes and insights from these conversations into reports, presentations, conversations with employers, and our future workplace consulting work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What participating means<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a voluntary conversation. We’ll ask about your experiences and perspectives, and you decide what you do and don’t want to share. You’re always welcome to skip a question or let us know that something you’ve shared should remain off the record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We take notes during our conversations so we can listen for experiences, patterns, and themes across interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your story is still yours<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Participating in an interview does not<\/strong> give Periscope blanket permission to publish your words, name, or personal story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we’d like to use a direct quote or identifiable story from your conversation, we’ll come back to you first. You’ll have the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • make sure we’ve represented what you meant accurately;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • decide whether we have permission to use it;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • ask us to revise it or not use it; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • decide whether you’d like it anonymized or are comfortable being identified by first name and last initial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    No is always an acceptable answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Privacy and sensitive information<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We recognize that conversations about perimenopause and menopause can include personal and sensitive information about health, work, relationships, and lived experience. We treat what people share with us with care and respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Our notes and interview information are used by Periscope for the purpose of developing workplace insights and related work. We do not sell participants’ personal information or provide employers with identifiable interview information without the participant’s permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As Periscope’s work develops, we will continue to review and strengthen our privacy and data-handling practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What may come from these conversations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    We hope these conversations will help us identify patterns and questions worth bringing to employers and the broader community. We may use aggregated or anonymized insights to develop reports, presentations, educational materials, employer conversations, and consulting recommendations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Our goal is not to speak for<\/em> everyone experiencing perimenopause or menopause. It is to listen carefully to individual experiences and use what we learn to help workplaces ask better questions and make more thoughtful decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We want you to feel comfortable asking questions about how your information or contributions may be used \u2014 before, during, or after our conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you’re unsure about something, please ask. We’d much rather have the conversation than have you wonder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
